Saturday Slam: Five possible destinations for Carlos Boozer

Carlos Boozer is still on the open market and he is hellbent on playing in the NBA as opposed to playing somewhere overseas. Here are five teams that I think could most benefit from his services and be a good fit for him.

#1. Utah Jazz: Carlos Boozer has a history with the Utah Jazz that is somewhat mixed but overall positive. With the team looking to make a playoff push, Boozer's offensive abilities could be a nice compliment to defensive oriented guys like Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors down low.

#2. Cleveland Cavaliers: If Tristan Thompson isn't going to take the $80M offer from the Cavaliers, the Cavaliers will suddenly have lots of money to spend. Carlos Boozer isn't nearly as good defensively as Tristan Thompson, but he is better offensively and he will demand a lot less money. If Thompson goes elsewhere and if the Cavaliers decide they want another low post threat, Carlos Boozer could be a nice addition to their team.

#3. Dallas Mavericks: The Mavericks are desperate to keep in the playoff mix and with Deron Williams already on board, adding Carlos Boozer could be nice for the sake of making Williams feel even more at home. A reunion of Williams and Boozer in Dallas could work given how well they played together in Utah.

#4. Toronto Raptors: The Raptors should feel desperate to make another move after the way things went for them in the playoffs last season. Carlos Boozer could be a good fit to give them a veteran presence and another scoring threat.

#5. Atlanta Hawks: If the price is right, Carlos Boozer would be a fantastic fit with the Hawks. He could come off the bench to give Paul Millsap and Al Horford relief inside while also providing an additional scoring threat. Plus, he already knows Millsap and Kyle Korver from Utah, so he should be able to fit right in from a team chemistry standpoint.

    1. Thanks! Toronto would be an interesting destination for Boozer. Perhaps he would help Anthony Bennett develop.
